County Commissioner Speaks to Humanities Class

Pamlico County Commissioner Ann Holton was the guest speaker for Carolyn Casey's Women's Studies class on Monday, February 8. Holton, a lifelong county resident, addressed the significance of making her way into politics which historically has always been male dominated. Holton, who captured more votes than anyone else in a field of four in her first try to become a commissioner, announced that she will be seeking a third term.

Rehearsals Underway for Falstaff Festival at PCC

A special composition and arrangement by Paul Knudson will bring the era of Shakespeare to the stage in the Ned Everett Delamar Center on Sunday afternoon, February 28. Produced by Deborah Khouri, a Falstaff Festival will feature a comic opera and 'dinner on the grounds' featuring a cuisine that would have graced the table of the famed English literary master. Graham Byrnes Honored on the Occasion of His 25th Anniversary Teaching Boatbuilding

Graham Byrnes entered a classroom to teach boatbuilding on January 9, 1985. The PCC Foundation coordinated a banquet to honor this milestone on January 9, 2010. Byrnes has taught scores of students who have built wooden power boats, sailboats, kayaks, and canoes during the last quarter century. Dr. Cleve H. Cox, PCC President, right, was on hand to congratulate Byrnes honoring his contribution to the college and to Pamlico County.
